Respiratory system

Read this article about your lungs.  Then, answer the questions on the right.

You can't see your lungs, but it is easy to feel their action.  Put your hand on your chest and take a deep breath.  You will feel your chest enlarge as you breathe in.  Then, your chest will return to normal as you breathe out.  You have just felt the power of your lungs.

Lungs are the main organ of our respiratory system.  These powerful lungs are the organs that provide our cells with oxygen.  They also allow carbon dioxide to leave our body.  Healthy lungs are pink and feel squishy.  The pink is the lung tissue.  The squishy feeling comes from millions of tiny air sacs.  These air sacs are called alveoli.  Each lung has about 300 million alveoli.  Alveoli send oxygen into the blood.  They also take waste (carbon dioxide) out of the blood.  Our powerful lungs help keep our cells alive and healthy.

1. About how many alveoli are in our lungs?
2.  Is the answer above explicit or implicit?

3.  How do you know whether it is explicit or implicit?
