Making Change

My sister is a good softball player. I go to all her games.  I like to help in the concession stand while she plays ball.

I like selling the food, but I have trouble making change when someone buys something.

I bet if you help me, I can learn to make change. Will you  help me?

 A penny is \$0.01.  Count by 1s. A nickel is \$0.05.  Count by 5s. A dime is \$0.10. Count by 10s. A quarter is \$0.25.  Count by 25s.
Always give change in the fewest number of coins that you can.

Give 1 nickel, not 5 pennies.

Give 1 quarter, not 5 nickels or 2 dimes and a nickel or 25 pennies.

Give 1 dime, not 10 pennies or 2 nickels.

My mom bought a drink to go with her fries.  The drink costs \$0.35.  She gave me \$0.50.  How much change will she get? Hold the mouse arrow over each coin. A message will help us find the change.  Always start on the left.
