Who Is Who?

Shirley Godbold
Walton County Schools

This wonderful ice breaker, for the first day of class, will help students to look at themselves in relationship to others, and to get to know each other. Use this as an introduction to a unit on self-esteem and Maslow's Hierarchy of needs.

The student listens attentively (e.g., does not talk while others are talking).

Student assessment will include the completed worksheet Who's Who? Formative assessment of listening skills should occur as the teacher circulates and observes students as they participate in the activity. Formative assessment will also occur as students discuss Maslow's Hierarchy of Needs and where the students placed the responses and how they answered the questions on the worksheet, Who's Who?

This can be the beginning of a study of the stages of development or stages of family life.
